I am Chris Wilson, candidate in the Republican Primary for Fannin County Commissioner Precinct 3.
This office is currently held by Jerry Magness, who is not running for re-election. The precinct is primarily in the eastern part of Fannin County, from Ladonia to the Red River, and includes Honey Grove, Telephone and northeast Bonham.
After growing up in a farming family in Georgia, I joined the Marines out of high school and served on active and reserve duty for 14 years. While in the reserves, I attended college and then worked in the security technology industry for 30+ years protecting governments and businesses.
Twenty plus years ago, I found land in Fannin County between Honey Grove and Ladonia to build a home and return to the rural life I was raised in by raising cattle and horses on our ranch. My first votes as a Republican included voting for Ronald Reagan, and I am a lifelong conservative who believes in serving as a way to return all the many blessings we share as Texans and Americans.
Our state and county are in a time of growth that is very different from the past, and that requires new ideas and the best possible choices from our elected leadership. The maintenance of our county road infrastructure remains an important responsibility of the Commissioner and the largest cost for each precinct. I think the other issues we face are going to make a bigger difference than ever. We must meet the challenge of managing this growth in a smart way that protects the things that make Fannin County special.
Our taxpayers and our budgets are severely strained which limits our ability to provide necessary services. I will make sure we properly manage the funds we have, and grow county revenues by bringing more state and federal funds back to Fannin County. I have long experience managing large and complicated budgets and contracts-and eliminating waste-while finding grants, tax incentives and private investment to grow the businesses entrusted to me in the past.
As our County continues to grow, so does the threat of crime and other risks to our safety. I will strongly support law enforcement, firefighters and emergency services to offset this risk and will work tirelessly to make sure we are all safe.
I am asking for your vote to serve you as your next County Commissioner for Precinct 3. Visit my website (joincw.com) to learn more, or call me at (903) 965-3331 for a talk.
Fannin County is in a critical time, and we have to have representatives who will look out for our residents needs.
I have seen a lot of change over the past 20+ years here, and believe we have so much opportunity-and risk-and we have to be well represented.
Our county needs a Commissioner with a lifetime of complex business and service experience. Someone that will listen to the People of Fannin and
promise to protect the special things we share-deliver smart growth-and to fight for you EVERY DAY.
The Marine's motto is "Semper Fidelis", Always Faithful. I keep my promises.
